please refresh my memory. My friend is installing a starter on his 1968 383 to fire it up on the stand, when he got the motor it was pretty much complete except for the starter, now I don't remember why there is a large bolt hole on top and small one on the bottom of the starter flange,it looks like both are 7/16 thread. is the top bolt supposed to be a long shoulder bolt,or is there supposed to be a sleave that the bolt goes through? thanks

the starter snout locates itself in the trans housing, so it's not gonna swim around ,like you would think, and there's no sleeve, remember bolt on top and stud on bottom, you're done.
