In the garage. Under the hood. Again.
On a couple of the vintage snowmobile sites I frequent, there's a thread for just CL listings of vintage stuff that might be of interest to someone in another area. It's helped me and many others. Would the mods be open to something like this getting started? Of course,it would be in the "For Sale" sections(not here) but would be inclusive to what we find in our own area. Been perusing the Michigan CL listings and there's some interesting stuff out there that might help a restorer or racer. Your thoughts, folks?

I'm not crazy about the craigslist postings we have now. I think it should be against the rules. My understanding WAS that the classified sections were for members. When a member posts a link to a craigslist ad, whoever that is on craigslist is gettin more representation at the expense of bandwidth from a site they're not even a member of or support. Plus, there are already enough bad dealers to go around. I don't think we need to introduce any more. Not trying to rain on your parade, that's just my opinion......remember, you DID ask.

I'm a member of another Mopar board that has a forum listed as "Interesting eBay/CL/RJ Ads" and it works well.....of course CL is Craigslist and RJ is Racing Junk....

I think it's a good idea, especially if it's segregated like you mention Al. I search/sell craigslist quite a bit and see all kinds of goodies that I don't post here, due to respect the folks with opinions on the matter like RustyRatRod.

Valid points,Rusty-yes,I did ask. I DO appreciate the input. The same points have been brought up on the sled sites. Like I said;tossed out there to be chewed on.

The reason I brought this up: Found an ad on a Michigan CL section for an almost complete '67 440 motor;block/crank/rods/915 heads/intake/yadayada. Rusty stuff,but...to a restorer, this might finish(or jump-start) a restoration. Someone out there might be looking for same, but might not look at these listings. How do we-us,as it were-get the potential buyer and the seller hooked up? I offered this as a possible suggestion;the cons-from an "ethical" standpoint-outweigh the pros.

I think if it was separate, it would be ok. At least then we'd have the option to either check um out or leave um be. They'd all be in one spot.

i see more crackhead CL and other listings than anything. if you want to start a thread just do it. i doubt it will make sticky status, but you never know. i have seen more overpriced crap than good deals, but it could just be demographics....my $0.02

think it would be good ...two things ..it would clear up our member items only rule of selling and it would be a good avenue to see whats out there for our members .....as always buyer beware with these postings as you will probably be buying from someone that lives quite a distance away from you ..personally I try to buy in my area or use these sites ( Mopar A/B ) as our people are usually more honest about what their selling

I'm guilty of posting CL ads on here & definitely think it would be of value. Come across items all the time around where I live that while don't need them personally would be more than happy to help out a FBBO member if it's something they're looking for.

I think it's a great idea provided it's done the right way. I would suggest the following:

1. What is being sold has to be spelled out in the post title, i.e., 73 B Body Suspension Parts vice Mopar parts, Charger parts, etc.
2. The date of the CL post is included in the title so you can see how old the post is.
3. No comments or bumps are allowed since these ads time out pretty quickly and you don't want folks getting excited over some great deal that was sold the year before that someone just found now and wanted to say "Wish I found a deal like that!"

I like the idea, If there was a sticky "Craigslist Listings" which is nothing but stating what each one is, you never know what you may find with or for cars to anything else, but should be stated maybe what state and whats being offered, Sounds like it could be beneficial.. No one has to look, but there is from time to time things that are worth checking into. Seeing those that just say "good deal" doesn't tell us anything unless we check, Need to know and then decide if we want to check into it..

One way of looking at it is we will see CL listings for cool MoPar stuff all over the country. Sort of a CL filter if you will or a form of crazedlist.

Yeah but that's IF admin agrees to do it. I wouldn't hold my breath.
