When i got the car back from the bodyshop all my steering components came back in a box. Do i need to pack the steering column to steering box coupling with grease? Is it easier to install the coupling on the steering box first so the splines line up, the pitman arm isnt installed though so i dont know where center is, thats Another problem:( image.jpg

I had to pull my steering column to restore it so my pitman arm (as well as the rest o the front suspension components) were already installed.

I installed the coupling to the column, packed the coupling with grease, and then installed the column to the steering box with the tires pointing straight ahead.

When I rebuilt my coupler it had grease inside it so I reapplied grease. I didn't fill it but applied a liberal amount. Not sure that answered the question but that's how I did it.
