Stiff Sidewall Hoosier Bias Slicks

I used 28 inch tall/88 rollout with 10 inch tread on my Belvedere. I also used natural rubber tubes and ran between 16 and 18 lbs. With 3.91 gear I'd go over the stripe at 6600 after shifting 2x at 6000.
Are you running tubes?
I'd talk to/watch Stock eliminator to get info as well.
It worked for me.
I am running tubes

I hit the small tires pretty hard with tubes but never went to a stiff sidewall slick.
I was able to run before I sold the car a 10 inch by 28 inch Hoosier bias slick.
Go to eBay and search "Hoosier drag slicks" then check the prices on those sold thru Jack McCormack. http://www.ebay.com/usr/mccrace3563
Good prices and free shipping.
Been buying my race tires there for years.

I have run Goodyear, Hoosiers, but I found Phoenix to be the best tire. IMO

If you're looking for a stiffer tire Mike, you might think about the MT ProBracket Radials. They are getting stellar reviews and are available in a 28x10.5 & a 29.5x10.5. Just a thought; another option. I know I'm going with these next time I buy tires.

Tires are a real question. In the "old days" I found the Firestone's worked best. Tried the Goodyear which were the "popular" tire. Went back to the Firestone's. Not sure what the best is today for my heavy car.

Firestones worked best on the old hemi car back then too, m-h was the worst. phoenix are now the old firestones, as u probably know .

In the old days the 14-32 Goodyear was noticeably heavier than the 14.5-32 Firestone. The Firestone always seemed to perform a little better. My current Satellite hits the tire pretty hard. More air pressure? I still like the Phoenix tires.
