1970 belvedere, all new brake system with front disks and rear 11 in. drums. All new power booster and master cylinder and combo prop. valve. Bled brakes with power bleeder. Solid stream from bleeders in rear and had to crack from caliper connection to bleed, (no bleeders)lots of flow from both of those. Brake pedal firm before starting car. When started, pedal severely mushy. Re-bled brakes the standard way by brake pumping. Got good flow and no air pops from any wheel. Brake pedal still behaves the same way. No system leaks, full master. ????????any ideas.......

The front calipers have to have bleeders of some sort. Just cracking open the hose connection will leave air from the hose connection to the top of the piston bore which will result in sponginess.

agreed there has to be a bleeder of somesort or else you could never get the air out of the caliper

Thanks so much. Bleeder was on the wheel side of the caliper and I neglected to take the wheel off and check there. Problem solved...
