Does anyone know if this will fit my car. The modifications to the car are, holley double pumper 7 something cfm (I can’t remember exact and car is not here to look), cool carb spacer, Edelbrock torquer II manifold, bulge hood. The description says it fits Carter and thermoquad carbs. Not sure if it will fit the holley, and wondering about clearance issues. I already have an aftermarket air cleaner that takes an 2 inch filter with no issues.

Check the carb to air cleaner circle size.

Carter AFB/AVS and Holey are normally different, but not sure about Carter TQ, which is what would have come on a 74, right?

The seller just got back to me with measurements. It’s a 5 inch opening for the carb and a 3 1/2 inch overall height.

I don’t know the answer

Measure your carb, than ask the seller.

Also- I think 73 and later had unequal length snorkels on E and B body cars.

There's page somewhere that has a lot of good detail info on Mopar HP air cleaners.

It's been linked to here a few times.

Confirmed the carb opening is the right size, 5”. Now about the height and will it sit down flush on the carburetor with the recess drop.

71 is a LOT more valuable than 72 and up.

They changed the stamping for the snorkels in 72.

It turns out that the 71 I found is the only one that’s show quality that I can find. Figures I find the most expensive one.

I think it might fit. Can anyone tell me where I should tie this hose to? I have only two vacuum ports and they are both being used. Brakes and PCV. Should I tee off PCV. Will it be enough vacuum to operate both?

Also, see that hose nipple in the top left corner of the picture? Is that for the breather cap? I do still have the charcoal canister in the car not hooked up. Maybe they go there originally? My FSM is with the shop right now so I can’t look, and besides my car is a 74 and this is a 71 air cleaner.

That is not a 71 air cleaner Dan. That is a 72-3 so don't pay '71 money for it. '71 has the breather hose coming off the snorkel itself.

The seller has it listed as 72-74. I identified it has a 71 through the link above. I guess I miss identified it. Well it is the only 70’s show quality one I can find, so it’s stupid money either way. So that nipple in the corner is for the breather cap? Like this one?

The port coming out of the side of the air cleaner, yes.

So my breather is on the drivers side next to the oil dipstick. That port is angled towards the passenger side. Is the breather supposed to be on the passenger side?

It can. All you need to do is put that valve cover on the right (passenger) side.

Don’t I need to flip the valve cover 180 degrees to fit on the passenger side. If so the holes are in the same position.

I'm confused, you don't flip the valve cover upside down. They're both the same, only difference is where the oil-fill, breather, and PCV locations are. Just remove the one on your left (driver) side, and install it the same way on the right (passenger) side, so now the breather will be at the rear where the breather port is on the air cleaner.

I didn’t mean flip it upside down. I meant rotate 180 degrees because I was thinking the bolt holes ans footprints of the valve were not symmetrical. Even if the bolt holes are symmetrical, isn’t the stock location of the breather supposed to be on the drivers side next to the oil dipstick, and the PCV valve on the passenger side? I wish I had my car here to look at this. The reason I am asking so many questions is I am thinking about buying this and it’s pretty expensive. Which way were the factory hoses routed on this dual snorkel air cleaner for the breather and the vacuum hose to operate the snorkel dampers? That’s what I really want to know.
