Greeting All,

I know someone has an answer to my question. I have a 70 GTX with a 440/727 AVS Carb (474066 0995 58) all stock. My intake (2951736-1) is stock I know for sure, my carb is stock I am 99% sure. I just recieved a mail order choke assembly (2951653) Just like the one pictured in my manual and the 20 pictures of them I Have seen on line. The stainless well is in place, choke assembly put into place , The carb is hitting the top of the choke. I have a .30 gaskit under the carb but I am 1/4" away from bolting it down.??? Anyone have any Idea what I am doing wrong. My past experiance has always been operator error. Do I need a thicker gaskit. Thanks.

I also believe you need the thick gasket. I put one of those on my 69 340 Dart and had no issues, but I have the thick (~1/4") gasket. By the way, I know the guy who makes this part and he's very detail oriented. I doubt it's an issue with the part.

my gtx has a flat choke that sits flush on the manifold the by metal spring actually fit down in the manifold inside a kind of a cup thing its in your pic of just the choke in the back ground but i think you should have a thick isolator gasket under your carb and yours i think would be good to go

If your GTX has a flat choke housing unless it is a 69,you have the incorrect intake.70 uses the choke shown by the OP with this gasket/spacer, it is approximatly 1/4" thick.
