Straight axle Advice

We'll do. But there is a auto salvage yard up their way that has quite a stash of A-100s to pull from. I want to say its called Bobcat (???) up in Oregon or Washington? Some of you may know these people. May be ceaper from a shipping standpoint.

I picked this up recently, and will be slowly disassembling for donor parts. Sadly, it was a rollover, and the body is quite tweaked, although fully operable and driveable, with a nice little 318 and a Sure-Grip:

I think this is the yard you are talking about...

They are virtually identical. Very small ,minor changes, but for the most part, look exactly the same. The Chevy van axles look different, so shy away from those.

Its been awhile!! How are all our AWB projects moving along??? If you guys are like me right now, a bit slower than usual??!! Updates, updates, we need updates. By the way I made that deadline for 2010 SEMA, then started to take the Comet out to go racing. It just hit the cover of this month's CarCraft!! Remember, you have to race what you build, right? No show queens here!!!

As predicted, our progress has slowed with the nice weather and race season. Plus we all just want to go out and drive our street cars and get out of the garage for a bit. I didn't get much response the last time I updated my build thread so I sort of abandoned it. We had a good session last night though and a friend found me some B-body Hooker Super Comp fender well headers for cheap. You can check out the blog but I probably won't do an actual update here until we're in paint. Maybe a month.

On a side note, I did drive the wagon out of the shop yesterday around the yard and it got me uber stoked again.

Dale, my 62 has all of the chassis fab/steering/cage/connectors etc. done. It's pretty much ready for bodywork and paint. I have got NOTHING done the last month and a half since I had an accident and am recovering from ankle surgery. I should be back at it in a couple weeks!

Good to hear the fires are at least still lit!! My Polara still sits outside the shop, developing a nice patina in surface rust- I think I'll leave it!! I went over to Irwindale this evening, and talked with the head technical inspector as to what they'll let me get away with on the lines of- - -no side or rear window glass just like the old days. This one, if I keep it, will be as butch as it gets. Hmmn. Maybe we'll just roll on the Rustoleum Hammertone ..

As butch as it gets? Here is a recently built (or atleast being built) BUTCHERED AWB. There is more in other posts and/or my website, but anyway; the chassis in these pics was built in 1967 when Bernie Wadekamper converted the 1964 Melrose Missile VI into a funnycar. This is basically as it sits now.
