Stripped Holley carb fuel inlet

it would be the only thing i could think about knowing i had some compound stopping fuel from leaking on my hot engine, wondering when it's going to fail! kind of like using rubber line to the carb. It's not legal for good reason!

At first thought, if there was enough material on the inlet nut, this is what I would do in my shop. Most people don't have this capability. I would thread mill the existing threads deeper till I had good threads then clean the hole up. Then I would remove the threads of the inlet nut and do a hard press fit with a bushing. I would then machine the threads to match the bowl threads. But that is only if there was enough material on the inlet nut to bush it.

I have done crazier stuff..........
That's a great idea. There are still about 3/8 of good threads in the hole. I'm really surprised there isn't an extended adapter that has longer threads to make use of those perfect ones just past the stripped ones. I have a lathe but just not good enough skills to do threads. Thanks a lot for the response.

............ASSUMING he can find a replacement six barrel bowl.
Well, he can.
They are in stock.
The two I bought from Allstate are "populated" as well.
100 cheaper than Chicago Carb.

You've got a lathe? Now would be a great time to learn to cut threads on it. MAKE your own extended fitting to catch the good threads.
If I was still working, I could have made you one in about 15 minutes.
The eighty year old Clausing I was using could cut nice metric or standard threads. Im sure yours will as well.

Definitely time to learn. If I can get time at home to do it. Lol few years of work left though before I can retire and really go at hobby stuff. Thanks again I appreciate it. I

Hey sorry I have one more question. When I pulled the bowl off of course the metering block gasket ripped. Anyone able to tell me the right one to order? Sorry I'm having trouble with the site. Ads keep popping over what I'm trying to write. I checked Allstate website and found the bowl but can't find anything indicating which gasket I need. Thanks again for all the help!

If they've got a bowl in stock, and a carb place, they probably know what gaskets the bowl needs. CALL THEM ON A PHONE, don't order on line.

Make sure that you get the correct bowl, front/rear as you probably know are different than the center. Buy a new one, then you can play with your old one.

Metering block or bowl gasket or both? You want the teflon non-stick ones.
It seems to be all one piece? I'll look closer when I get home tonight. It tore around the bowl flange. But looks like it's part of the gasket behind the metering plate. Thanks

You might be right. Been too long since I looked at a metering plate Holley. Daves69 posted a good diagram. My guess it would be the bottom left gasket but you need the brown one also if I remember correctly. The other two gaskets would be for the primary side of a 4 barrel carb.
