I'm looking to build a 727 that will hold up to 6-700 HP, anyone have any recomendations? I want a gearvender on it also. Also a convertor nothing high stall, maybe 500 rpm higher stall than stock. I will be using Nos with this settup.

I went with Keith from www.727specialist.com. He can build them however you want just let him know what you have and what you plan to do with it. As far as the converter, based in Keith's recommendation I went with Coan Racing and had them build one based on my honest engine specs. One piece of advice, NEVER lie to your converter guy. Tell them what you have what you weigh and what your plans are exactly.

Good luck!

I put 1050hp through mine in a 4250lb car with a gear vendors. Bob Alexander at Performance Transmission in Clinton, IL. My converter is a tight 10" from coan as we're spraying a bunch as well.

I would call Turbo Action. They do a quality job and know Mopars. When you call, ask for Paul he is the owner. He can give you the part numbers you need to order. Give Summit a call with the numbers and they can price it for you

Will be buying. Yeah want a top shelf convertor, don't need any sprag problemns or ballooning when I hit the NOS. Think I just found a Dana with 3.73 gears and Strange axles!! And less than 50 miles away JACKPOT!!!! Also just finished my last order from AMD for sheetmetal.:hello2:

Talk to Rick Allison at A&A.
X2 Good guy, has excellent rep for building quality and he's a Mopar specialist

Here's another endorsement for A&A and Rick. My A&A 727, with Gear Vendors, is bombproof. Has about 8000 miles on it, behind a 660 hp Hemi, with 4.10 Dana. It's awesome.

I say buy a book and learn to do it. I've found that a well built 727 with correct stock parts and a Turbo Action valve body will survive low10s foot braking for well over 500 passes w/o failure. You can build one from a core with a new VB for less than $500. We're currently running a stock push button with a trans brake in my sons car. 3700lbs, 10.67@127. Yes it has low band apply and a blanket. We'll see how long it goes. Personally I haven't failed any 727 that I've built that run in a range of 10-11 second @3500lb plus in the last 15 years. 7 cars currently. If your not up to it I would suggest John Cope or Rick at A&A. For a street/strip converter you can't beat Kenny Ford at PTC. He'll build you a decent piece for less than $500.

Rick is the man! His customer service is awesome. I bought my trans from him and a year later I ordered the cross ram. I told him my name and without hesitation he remembered what parts I had bought and the car I put it in. Fluke maybe but I was impressed. Most businesses these days only seem to care about getting to the part where you give them the payment information. Rick is a true Mopar guy, builds them, drives them and drags them.
