Hello fellow MoParians! First off let me clarify that I suck at electrics. Anyway, I'm going to swap out the slant six for a sweet little 273 in my 1966 Coronet. The 273 is currently equipped with breaker-points and I'm thinking of installing a PROFORM 66991 electronic distributor that comes with the ECU and ballast but no coil. Would the MSD Blaster/Blaster 2 be a suitable choice for this setup or am I way off here? Otherwise the electrics are a total mess on this here automobile, all homemade wiring, all wires same colour and many wires are too small gauge.:angryfire: Best would of course be to cut existing wiring and redo all over, which I will sometime in the (hopefully not too distant) future.

After doing the dance with distributors and coils I've settled for Fire Core capacitive discharge distributor and MSD Blaster SS coil. The price was right and the performance was spot on. I particularly like the size and looks of the SS coil as it hides down in the front engine valley and the body of the Fire Core fits the tighter spaces on a lot of Mopar engines.

The MSD #8222 is a epoxy filled coil, designed for heat and mounting on it's side. Unlike oil filled coils that leak and are prone to heat.

okay, well considering the condition of the dirtroads here that would probably be a good choice.
