Trying something new/different, bought a set of the Summit Racing brand Pro GPX Gas Ported Piston rings.
These have the coated steel top ring.
At just $208.99 / set I figured I'd try them as I can't afford the Total Seal AP steel version at $642.33
Has anyone used these rings, can't find any reviews on them?

Also, any black Friday or discounts at 440 Source?

$642 For rings?! WTF...

You could inquire about the manufacturer. They could be Total Seal boxed for Summit Racing. I get parts from NPW, formerly EPWi, and their white box rings are hastings rings at a substantial price reduction.

Yes, we purchase hundreds of rings in sleeves of dozens of various bores sizes. Pricing does comes way down when purchasing in bulk.

That's nothing. We pay over $2000 for a set of rings for some of our high dollar high horsepower builds.
That is insane to me. but i'm just building a beater :) I want to stroke my 318 but will just use whatever comes with the kit :) Cause cheap! I need to get off my *** soon though if i'm gonna get anything done

We are trying a summit set as well on the next engine. I like the concept and the price.
I see mancini has 10% off on black friday. I haven't seen anything from 440 source yet? Speedway has 20% off but not on everything.

We as in who? I'm assuming Roush? $600 isn't nothing. It's a hell of a lot of money for anything besides an all out heads up build. And for how much power over gas ported pistons? Or no gas ports for that matter. 5-10hp? Not much gain for the average build. Now for $200 not to much spent over a normal set of .043 rings.

Even the Moly rings are expensive now. Total Seal Moly rings from 440 Source are $175, Summit Racing is almost the same price ($164) Hastings Moly rings are $148. This was looking at the 4.375" bore 1/6x1/6x3/16" rings.

For expensive, look at doing cylinder heads with Beryllium Copper valve seats and Titanium valves!

Update: Got the ring set, opened the "Summit" box, and the rings are bagged in "Total Seal" labeled bags.
Not sure if they are the exact same set Total Seal sells for $600, or a slightly different set?
