Why even do a clone? Whats wrong with admitting to and driving a 69 coronet 440? The average person thinks it came with a 440 anyway! Be proud of what you have...dont pretend to be something different.

I get asked that a lot also. So then I have to tell them just 383 or Hemi were the only options.

Because people are impatient.
Because people want the benefit without the sacrifice. (Aka...Where's my ribbon for showing up?)
Because stripes are easier and cheaper to buy than a real car.
Because integrity and character take work.

I get what you guys are saying, but if I will never in this lifetime be able to afford an A12 car but that's my dream car, why wouldn't I build what I want out of a Coronet or Satellite? As long as I'm keeping it for myself and not promoting it as a real car, who really cares? I don't.

And when searching for something we have always wanted we stumble onto something else unexpectedly. Half the fun is the hunt...although it may take some time. I am not necessarily a purist but i dont think i would ever clone a car or buy a clone. I think Satellites,belvederes and coronets are cool as they are if they have survived 5 decades!

I would wait and see what happens,you just might find one. I was buying a coronet when my friend found me a Bee. I mean that day I was going to buy the coronet.But if that will bring you joy its your car. I personally would not clone a car.
