I've been seeing a few of these wagons popping up here and there, but they're usually one step short of the scrap pile. Pretty cool to see one running around in this good a condition. :) Sure would be nice if they did something about the front interior.

Lots of space, decent mileage with a 318, I would sure buy this before an SUV.

I totally agree. I've been looking out for something like that up here in Minnesota - but the rust belt here has few survivors. I'm holding out for one with the 9-passenger seating. What a blast!

coolwagon

:iamwithstupid: I do like wagons too, very cool when done right... I'm not sure why they stoped making them, unless they just weren't selling... none of them mine unfortunately

Way-cool car! Love me some long-roofs;imagine one with a new Hemi under the hood backed by an OD automatic-tow car, indeed. Road trip as well!

Nice.

IMO, the 63-65 has way more character as a wagon.

Wow. it's a good thing that I live all the way at the other corner or I'd be on my way to look at it right now. Seems like a pretty good deal even if it needs some help. Love the wagons!

Just to keep the theme alive:

Though I agree with YY1 about the "character" issue,I would not turn down something like Bruzilla posted. Just a big ol' box,but what a cool-azz box! Tons of "character" there.

I was just thinking of all those poor, wretched, souls I see looking at me from their SUVs when I roll up next to them in the road runner. There they sit... having to pay $40,000 for the opportunity to sit in a vanilla-looking SUV that gets 12 MPG on a good day, looks like everyone else's ride, and has a soccer ball on the back. They've got to truck around a bunch of kids and have come to believe the Hell-like nature of their existence can only be lived out in a late-model POS they hate paying for and that does nothing for them.

Instead they could get a super-sharp wagon like this for $7k or so, put some Flowmasters on it, and cart around the kids with some basic human dignity and pride in themselves. They would go from the "Must Suck To Be You" crowd to the "You Are So Lucky" crowd overnight!

Cool SUV's

:iamwithstupid: there are a few select SUV's, I'd drive anyday anywhere...

love the trail duster and the Durango

my daily driver

yep my daily driver is a 1999 4x4 Dakota SLT 5.2ltr w/bolt ons, tuner & bigger tires... I needed a pick-up at the time, but I like 1996-2000 Durango's too, kind of thought of doing a Durango Shelby replica, lowered, nice wheels & tires, hot rod Kenny Bell blown 5.9ltr. etc...

I also needed a pickup at the time but I sold it (a really nice 3/4 ton 1990 Club Cab) and a 95 Intrepid to get my wife a new ride which is a fully loaded 2000 Durango with 3.90 gears, limited slip and on and on. We had an 86 RC but she didn't really like it then got a 1990 Dakota for a furniture store we had back then. The Durango with heavy duty suspension and trailer tow package handles way better than I ever dreamed it would. Yeah, it gets 12 in town (I can get 14) but it'll pull down 18-19 at a steady 65 but who does that?! At 80, it gets 13 :D No station wagon I've ever driven from back then could match the Durango's handling and creature comforts and utility....

yeah I have a 1 ton 2002 F350 4x4 Xtra cab Diesel dually 6 speed, I had a 1995 Dodge Ram w/manual {shortened/boxed the frame, converted to a shot bed} & a 1998 Dodge Ram auto both 4x4's a 2500 & 3500, that both lifted/big tires etc. & had hopped up 5.9ltr Turbo Cummins & 300k+ miles, prior to the Ford, but I really needed something other than the, ill handling, that can't turn around in a damn city block "for ****", pretty much useless damn F350, really only good for towing the fith wheel & it does that very well & gets 14+ mpg doing it too, the Dakota fit that need of a daily driver & fits in the garage too boot, I considered the Durango, ened up with the Dakota because of practical reasons....LOL...

I bought a 97 Dodge diesel extended cab around close to 2002. Just now has 140k on it. Runs damn good but I miss my 79 D300 Adventurer SE Club Cab. The 97 is stock except for a straight pipe and H2 wheels with 285-70's on it. The 79 had chrome spokes with 12.50-33's and not only did it ride good, it also handled good. It also had a set of early 90's captain's chairs from a new pickup. The guy wanted 'work' seats so, we did a swap. The chairs made that interior really comfy. Wish I had kept it and installed a diesel engine and got rid of that 8 mpg gas sucking 360 lol.

i miss my old 5.2 93 Dakota. It was loaded, blue/silver. I installed air bags for towing and it was great little hot rod that i sold before moving to England for my last assignment...was a mistake

I'm the original owner and it's a 4 X 4 w/trailer package also unfortunately it really hates road patches but otherwise it's a nice handling vehicle, has 68K on it and has always sucked in the gas mileage dept ... i would trade it for one of the nice wagons above in a heartbeat! .. got me thinking now.
