Hey everyone,
I have been into classics since high school and I just recently got my hands on my first one. It's a 66 Satellite (318 v8) and let me tell you that thing gave me MOPAR fever! Anyways, I'm still fairly new to MOPAR and I was wondering two things,
1) If there was a list or maybe a website somewhere that could tell me which vehicles I could pull parts from that would work in my car.
2) My friends tell me that there are MOPAR graveyards out there, anybody know of any?

If you say what parts your looking for and narrow down your location it would be easier to give suggestions. I got my drivers license in a 67 like your car. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. I live in Northern California, very close to Sacramento. I'm looking for some graveyards because I'm missing the passenger side tail light and I have been looking for almost a year for it with no luck.
The car is not in bad shape at all but right now I'm starting with the brakes. It's all manual drum brakes. I was at a junkyard the other day and I saw an old 70's dodge van with a master cylinder and power booster that looked like it would fit the bolt pattern on my firewall, but I wanted to be sure.
After that, I'm gonna tackle the engine. It's a 318 LA and I just wanted to know if I can pull parts from ANY 318? Or did the standards change later on?

The 318 is the same basic motor from after the Poly 318 all the way up until 1987-88 when they went to fuel injection, then they got into roller lifters around 91'

There is a book called the Hollander Exchange Manual that will tell you which parts fit which cars - you can look up a master cylinder for your car and it will tell you which other cars and years had the exact same part. You can get'em on ePay or other places, just look for one that covers your year car. However, it won't tell you what will fit that isn't exact, like the 73 Dart disk brakes that are on my 70 Road Runner.

Also, a 66 318 should be the old style A 318 motor, also called a Polysherical or just Poly motor, not an LA 318. Some parts interchange between the two, but not many. Double check to see if you have an old or new style 318. If unsure, post a pic and we'll be able to tell you!

yes as I stated everything after the POLY 318 is the same up to about 1988 when they went to fuel injection (I have owned about 20 318 trucks and cars over the years)

Get your brakes from a 73-76 A body (if you can find one) or more likely, buy the M/C for one of those cars new, and get the other stuff from an F/M/J body (aspen/volare/diplomat/fifth ave/gran fury/mirada).

Those tail lights are hard to find and expensive. Used can be around $50 or more. PG classics has them new for $85.

Wow, thanks for all the info! I'm looking at that Hollander Exchange Manual right now, good stuff. About the engine, it's not the original. I looked up the engine numbers and it came up with something called a warranty engine? I'm assuming that means it was replaced while it was still under warranty. The numbers that are on the engine match up with a late 60's LA engine though.

OK..If you would give me a few days..at least through the weekend...I will see what I have as I do have a large tailight selection for 1966 Ply Sats. I have one myself but the parts are scattered. Right now I am in Florida but the car is in Northern CA..Vacaville to be precise. I will check here in FL first and then see what is in CA. I will also be moving back to Vacaville in August so keep me in mind and maybe I can hook up with you....Found these on the eBag...
