I'm looking for some inspiration for my 69 RR

My old bird is supposed to be T7 Burnished bronze metallic.

I am having a hard time finding any nice photos of T7 69 birds.

Maybe because they all repainted them with a color they liked better? lol!

I'm trying to warm up to the T7 but I need some inspiration.

Anybody out there got one?

Heres one

Here is mine, but it has the optional retractable roof. The color has grown on me. IMHO it is a better color than green on these cars.P5250136.jpg

Thanks very much guys, from a little research this morning it looks like i may have been using the wrong name? Did Plymouth call T7 "saddle bronze"

Awesome cars guys.

liked this bronze --not a 69 but still a awsome color

hunt2elk, if I read my fender tag correctly my vinyl top is original to my car and it is very light, like a white or off white. Your vert helps me visualize what that would look like.

here's ole crazy bird now, you can see the vinyl top.

engine bay, you can see the original bronze paint where the windshield washer tank should be.

I have seen T7 listed as both saddle bronze and dark bronze metallic. This is probably a Plymouth- Dodge thing. I think the 1W on your tag is the white vinyl top. Usually it is listed as V1W. Maybe your car was built in the Lynch plant. I think they changed the codes slightly on some options. Someone here can probably clarify this for you. Regardless you will have a nice lookng car when it is done.

Thanks very much, yes it definately is a lynch road car.

I too have seen the vinyl code as a "V1W" but mine just doesn't have the V, maybe they started stamping the V after mine was built? It's got to be for the white vinyl top though.

And then it's tripple T7...freeking brown everywhere! Lol!

Engine, rear axle & trans codes are on the 2nd row and they all match up with what i've got.

925 - 383 4BBL, manual transmission, heater, 335hp, Orange

595 - 3.23 s/g, 8 3/4, 11" rear & front drums

603 - 833 4-speed Manual, 383-4BBL engine, (23 spline)

The N96 would be the fresh air hood or air grabber.

And i'm pretty fuzzy on what the bottom line is other than the RM23, I think some of it is interior code... not sure what else.

Thanks, I'm trying to pick up a little enthusiasm for going back to the original color.

I've told people for many years now, in my own words: "I don't care what color you paint it, hell you can paint it brown and if you do it right with modern base/clear, wet sand and buff it glassy it's going to kick ***"

yeah, my own words "you can even make brown look good"

lol!!

Aint karma a bish?

Well the photos posted above like Hunt2elk's 69 vert are proof i guess huh?

The thing is I am finding this car to be so intact and unmolested (other than the acid trip mural)

I feel obligated to put it back to it's original recipe.

Mine is FT-6 which from what I can tell is as close to T7 as you could get in 1970. I had a real hard time deciding if I should go original color but I'mm glad I did. There are way too many red, orange and blue hot rods. Most who see it seems to think I made the right choice

Very nice, you guys are giving me exactly what I needed.

I agree, lots of red, orange, lime green, black out there.

man you nailed the stance with that one! What did you use for wheels and tires if you don't mind me asking?

Are those "cop wheels"?

love the offset in the rear wheels, if and when i ditch the keystones I'll be going with painted steel wheels like yours but i need guidence on the size/offset etc. Awesome.

they are cop wheels, fronts are oem 15x7s and the rears are 15x10s with 4 1/2 backspacing and 275/60s, next set of tires I may move up to 295s or 305s. The only reason I hesitate is because I like the 28" tall tire but the 10" rims are a bit wide for a 275.

Thanks for the compliments

Hey thanks a lot, did you drill those caps or??

looks really cool.

I think it looks cool with the Keystones and the acid trip mural,a real throwback to the way it was back in the 70's and not many are left that are like that.
It's like a piece of history and pop culture and really stands out as opposed to another restored car.

If it were my car and the mural part of the paint is still intact,I'd leave it the way it is and repair the areas around it that need attention.

It's your car,though,so it's your call.

Well if it's that special.....

It might be for sale...

lol!!

Mine's T5 so just a little lighter than your T7, although I am coded for T7 on the interior. I just couldn't do the brown interior thing. I'm going black and grey/silver for the interior. Here is a pic of a T5 car, not mine though:

In 1969 there were three bronze/copper color codes
Dodge
T3..... Light bronze metallic
T5..... Copper metallic
T7..... Dark bronze metallic

Plymouth
T3 ..... Honey bronze metallic
T5...... Bronze fire metallic
T7...... Saddle bronze metallic

Copper and bronze have been classic Mopar colors since the mid 50's

Oh god I can't lie... That T5 appeals to me more so than the T7...
