i am building a 413 this is what i have so far i am fairly new to building engines this is what i had to do it with.... i purchased a set of 915 heads and sent them to the machine shop to install 2.14 intake and 1.81 exhaust had them slightly milled to make them flat and also a 0.020 head gaskets i also ordered a hughes whiplash hydrualic roller cam and hughes hydraulic roller lifters i am going to purchase full roller rockers 1.5 ratio.... also the intake will be a edelbrock victor intake with a edelbrock 750 ... the bottom end is stock except i had the crank spun and new bearings on the bottom will be running a high volume oil pump and a deep oil pan... does anyone have a good guess on hp this might produce and with limited water will this motor build to much heat to operate or with extra oil flow and capasity and performance bearings and roller cam and roller lifter and a intake to block off heat crossover will it operate in high heat conditions any opinions will help thanks

Wow... reading that was like listening to my blabbering ex wife! Holy RUN-ON sentence, Batman!
Okay.... I think that in all of that, I read that you are building a 413 engine. Okay. THIS engine can be built to make power, but will be limited because of the small bore size. Also, the stock low compression pistons aren't helping you much. Good thing you have those 915 heads. This may allow you to achieve 9.5 to one squeeze. The "Whiplash" cam has some bad feedback on this forum as well as elsewhere, since it seems to favor retro sound rather than modern day power. Without the cam specs or specific compression, you'd need the help of a psychic or a crystal ball to know what kind of power to expect. The Max wedge cars had 11 to one squeeze with better heads and a bigger cam, and I seem to recall that they were rated at 410 HP. You may be lucky to reach 350.

As been said many times, the 413 is a great engine but limited to piston availability. If you want to spend the money for custom forged pistons that's fine, and it will work well, but a 440 is a more economical choice if you really want to go crazy. If you just want to build a stock or very mild 413 then go with a cast replacement piston and design around whatever compression that will yield. In other words, keep the cam small!

I would leave the stock 2.08" x 1.74" valves in the 915's.
