I just replaced my instrument cluster with another replacement that was in much nicer condition.

I noticed yesterday when I turned on the ignition the temp and gas needles spike all the way to the end for about 10 seconds and then fall back down to where I think they should be. (This didn't happen with the old cluster, but that one also had slightly lower temp and gas readings)

This might only happen when its warm.

Doesn't worry me too much but...

Just wanted to make sure, is this totally normal?

or a sign if a short, bad connection or component?

Think you have a defective 5 Volt mechanical regulator since the 3 gauges you mention spike like that. Not sure where it is physically located in your car. Anyways, find what you need here.. https://www.rt-eng.com These are the best way to solve Mopar gauge voltage regulator problems. Don't run the car like that as frying all 3 of those gauges is possible !!

Should look something like this...

You could steal the one off your other cluster.

Ok well it just stopped doing that. And it was only when it was warm. I'll look into it. Thanks
