Does anyone know what the target temperatures in degrees F Chrysler was aiming for in the "normal" range on the temperature gauge?

Jim

"Normal" range in our older cars would be 180* as most used the 180 thermostat from the factory.
Way back when we would swap to a 160* and usually the gauge would show little less than mid range.

Like the story of the 3 Bears but not too hot, not too cold and just right.

I have an AutoMeter gauge and the standard dash gauge on my 66 Coronet with Slant 6. I have a 180 thermostat and the dash gauge reads just about straight up vertical in the lower part of the Normal range when the AutoMeter reads 180.
