hi guys,

i am gonna clone my 63 savoy into a Max Wedge car;
i bought myself a correct repro hoodscoop and i need to cut the frame under the hood and have to saw 2 holes in the hood for the carbs.

I hope someone can provide me a template, or measurements how to adapt my hood.

I cant help with the right location for the two holes but it you go here to Moshers on this link and go under Finished Cars abd look at the 63's you might find a few pics that may help. Ron

Max Wedge Hood Openings for Carb

Here's what Mosher has on their webpage. Not sure it's exactly correct? No mention of a Template-

When we cut the hole in my hood, we had an engine in place without the hood on the car. We pulled strings (one front-to-back, and one cross the fenders) so that they intersected right over the carb. We pulled them tight and marked their locations on the fenders. Then we took the strings off. We then installed the hood on the car and put the strings right back where our marks were. That positioned the center of the hole right above the carb.

I can't say that's the "factory" positioning for the holes in a '63 hood, but it will definitely get you holes directly above the carbs.

now that i think about it..that is a perfect idea to line up the holes above the carbs.
