You don't have any unalienable right to post. If a mod determines something needs to go... buh-bye. And when there is doubt, history, a members rapsheet, will color the decision to a greater degree.

I'm pretty bad, in my head, I am constantly critiquing grammar, shaking my head at questions, trying to figure out why someone's parents didn't beat them enough. Sometimes it does escape my mind and ends up on this or another forum. But for the most part, I try not to hurt other's feelings. But sometimes, the bandaid does need to be ripped off. Hey - after all it’s not like this is akin to a number of tech giants we could all probably name. And tho I’ve not been in nor want to be - there is a forum here to discuss most of this distasteful stuff isn’t there? The political forum? I got a couple of my posts deleted recently too. Wasn’t sure exactly why but I’m smart enough to guess. If I knew better I most likely would have stayed away - but I’ve been off site for awhile so frankly didn’t know and think I just went with prevailing winds on my input. Anyway I don’t care - I’d rather just go along with what is okay and skip the rest.

Yes, it's real simple, but the "usual suspects" continue to push the envelope and then whine when their post(s) get deleted. If in doubt, don't post it.

That makes the boat of us, that's so funny & true! That's mostly why I don't frequent most of the forums I used to follow anymore, moving also helped with that. It's funny when you take a sabattical from something, then return, you have a totally different look at them and the people that post. It's mind boggling to say the least!

Perhaps -- on the other hand, you could just follow the rules and avoid the problem. See, 95% of the deleted posts come from just a handful of members who repeatedly push the limits and/or break the rules. For example, member Hey-O above, I don't remember ever deleting one of his posts. You on the other hand, have had dozens deleted.

I couldn't count the number of times I've written something, whether on here or in a work email and then re-read it and modified it or deleted it.

Writing what first pops into my head seems to get it off my chest, and then I go back and modify it, taking into account the other person, or whoever could read it.

This is not being a pussy - it comes with maturity I think, trying to consider the other person's circumstances, instead of going in all guns blazing. There's people of all ages, educations, financial standings, political leanings, nationalities etc on here.

Seek first to understand.

Rarely do I get into a name-calling or back-and-forth argument when it's clear neither party is listening to what the other is saying - waste of time.

It's much easier to "push the envelope" face to face with someone as they can hear the tone in your voice, facial expression etc - across the keyboard it's a much more difficult thing and arguments are way more common.

I was just asking about how it can be difficult to know what exactly was dumped. If I only posted once a day, it would be easier to track down.

You're right, you did ask that, and then many people (myself included) wrote some things that are sort of relevant, but don't address directly what you originally posted.
