I've started (in earnest) the resto on my '68 SS convertible and made this bracing for the car while it's on the rotissorie. As the car was not going to have a floor or quarters for the trip to the media blaster I had wanted to stiffen it up as much as possible ( insert Viagra joke here).

I made it modular so that I can remove a piece here and there without dismantling the entire unit. Likewise for bolting it in rather than welding as I have a GTX convertible waiting in line behind this one.

Home from the media dude.

The non-blasted areas are getting replaced so there was no point in stripping them. I left the trunk floor in for now to keep some integrity in the *** end of the car for travel on the open road. It'll come out easy enough.

Nice work on the jig Pete, looks like you are replacing the quarters below the body line, can you use hardtop quarters for this. I may know someone who is going to have to do the same thing!

Thanks for the props Ken. The lower skins on the quarters are not a problem, it's the tops around the convertible top that can be problematic. Sometime in it's previous life, somebody skinned over the original quarters and made a mess of what was left. Still, hope springs eternal :grin:.
