According to Johnny Cash, the best car he ever owned was a Plmouth ! Anyone familiar with the contest they held to find one like it ? Pics of the winning car would be cool to see ! Apparently the winner, swapped their old Mopar for a then new one 73.

probably my 68 Charger R/T, I was the second owner
but My moms bought new 68 Sport Satellite 383 4 speed
would be a close second

I never heard of the Johnny Cash car you spoke of
or let alone the contest

I'll be damned, here's an article on AllPar
took all of about 15 seconds to find
https://www.allpar.com/history/plymouth/johnny-cash.html
allegedly it was a 1954 Plymouth Savoy

enjoy

My 69 Charger, don't plan on selling it ever! It's the one car that comfortably does it all and does it reliably, loads of fun.

2000 Dakota R/T

Most dependable and least costly to maintain vehicle I've ever known anyone to have owned.

95 Dakota 4x4
Dependable affordable and mobile.
COLD AIR! bought it at 80k now has 200k.
Low maintenence great truck.
Best $4500 I ever spent
I will never own anything but a truck for my daily driver.
Pissed that Ram won't start making them again.

1982 Dodge Ram D-100. Sh!t brown. Slant 6, 4 speed. Most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. Very temperamental whether it be cold weather or warm. Always started, almost always ran. Very few problems. Sometimes I regret selling it.

I've had several but never kept a daily driver for 20 years.....a 95 Dakota. My 97 Diesel has more miles but costs more to maintain. The Dakota (Yard Cart) doesn't get much maintenance lol in fact, I've never had it aligned in the 20 years I've had it!!

My 87 Shelby Daytona, bought it new & was so damn reliable, even after I put nitrous in it.

Another vote for the Dakota. Mine was a 1994 extended cab, 4x4, 318 with a 5 speed. When I sold it it had 275,000 on it. Original engine, tranny and clutch. I beat the crap out of that thing, it just kept going.

I've had lots of "best" cars.
My first -best- car was a 57 Desoto that I paid $50 for when I was 15. It served my learning about mechanical things well for four years.
I put it through what I now know as real hell for any car but it kept on running until my next best car--a new 69 super bee 383 4sp.

I can't post my best as this is a Mopar board!..lol
my favorite is a 69 Bee I've owned since the early 80's

EVERY Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth I have ever owned has been outstanding and I have had many. Having said that, my '95 Ram 1500 was one of the best. 15years,165k miles, not one issue. Itraded it in 2009 under Obummkers Cash for Clunkers deal. I got $4500 for it on the trade. The '09 was and still is an outstanding truck as well. One day the check engine light came on..appx 65k on it. I took it to the dealer and they put a new engine in it..FREE!!!!!!
