No my car was originally an automatic console car. It’s a real RT car with a few good options. I went with the T-56 Magnum 6-speed but still utilizes an automatic console with a 4-speed top plate.

My own car is the first time I ever put my hands on a Pistol Grip shifter. I LOVE it. I wondered about the weird curves it had and figured that it was shaped that way to allow access to the console while in any gear.

My 68 build has a little of 66, 67, 69, and 70 added somewhere. 66, 67 console and rear bucket seats. 68, 69 body, 70 front valance.

I had a triple green 71 500 in high school. I paid $275.00 for it with a blown tranny. No, the old phrase actual blown tranny. Not like today that has a whole new meaning. Drove it for several years with no second gear. Just slapped the slap stick manually from 1st to 3rd and all was good. Solid rust free Texas car. Should have kept that one.

Even though I suck at banging gears with the long throw I absolutely love the way they feel

I know this is a thread about chargers, but all this pistol grip talk makes me want one. I bought a non console pistol grip for my car because it was a good deal. But then I decided to put the console in my car, and console pistol grips are outrageous. Anyone try to make a non console a console?


Too keep it on charger talk, if 66 isn’t the best, it would have to be 68. I know it’s a little thing, but the side makers on all 68s are a beautiful small chrome surrounded circle. After that it’s just an ugly rectangle
