Yeah, I know this is a B-body site, but I'm sure some of you like The Blues Brothers.

It's my favorite movie of all time, probably have seen it hundreds of times, BUT I had never seen it on the 'big screen'..........until tonight.

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the movie, it is being shown at select theaters around the country. My local theater happened to be one of them.

There's a brief commentary at the beginning and the end of the movie, but its stuff you know already if you're any kind of fan of the movie.

I wasn't expecting the theater to be packed for this, but I wasn't expecting only 3 people (including myself) either.

Oh well, I still totally enjoyed it.

Whole lotta stars, and some of our most awesome musicians in that movie!!

Great. Now I'll have to dig out my blue-ray and watch it again. :) Did the new release have the extra scenes that weren't in the original? (My last version is longer, has the extras).

Were on a mission from god...
We play both kinds....country AND western.....
Lmfao!!!
A buddy of mine had a hitter box in high-school that had them on it and said-- were on a mission from god....

A theater here a couple years back did a retro movie series, like two nights a week. Seeing it on the big screen was cool after growing up watching it on BETAMAX (yeah that's right) through the 80s...classic.

Murph and the Magic Tones? Look at you in those candy-*** monkey suits!

Chickenwire?

The little girl, the women.....

My favourite quote from the movie is this...

"You're gonna look pretty funny trying to eat corn on the cob...with no ******* teeth."

oh, and this from John Candy...

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ok, this is what I mean by learning this website. In trying to edit the title, I managed to crate a whole nother thread.....

Delete one of them somebody?
Gotcha covered there.

Whoever fixed my mistake, THANK YOU!!

For me, there were details that stuck out more noticeably being on the big screen. I forget which scene it was exactly, but the Bluesmobile goes past the camera showing the drivers side, and clear as day you could see a hole cut in the quarter where a whip antenna had been mounted.

(apparently there's a bit of a delay too as kiwigtx's post wasn't there when I started this one)

The closest I ever got to a Bluesmobile was this, a '77 Gran Fury ex NY State Police car.

Bought it while I was in high school (about '83). I bought it off the guy who bought it at auction. Sadly the joy was short lived as the wiring up in the dash flamed out one night on my way home. The drivetrain lived on. Of all the cars I've owned, this is one I wash I could get back.

One of the best movies of all time for sure. From some of the best comedy bits to bringing older music stars to forefront for a new generation of people to enjoy.
