the daily rant

 For years my GF & I took care of a blind man.... Coral use to have a jar on the counter with dog treats in it.... It had been in the same place on the counter for years... Then one day Jerry (The Blind Guy) tells Coral the cookies are stale... What cookies???? Turns out Jerry had been snacking on dogs treats ever since he'd discovered the jar a few months earlier....

Jerry was blind AND his taster didn't work

The wife likes to snack on honey roasted nuts and chocolate chips...... pretty good, actually.

She had set a bowl of dry cat food, "Kit and Kabootle" to be precise, on the table next to wear I sit.

It was meant for me to put on the porch for a little black cat that has been around; but I wasn't in the house when she put it there.

Well, I sat in my spot without my glasses on and put a nice big handful of chocolate and nuts in my mouth; except it wasn't :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

I moved to the suburbs (small town) in 1990. Most of the businesses closed at noon on Wednesday. That pretty well ended 25 years ago, except the friggin Post Office. They still close at 11:30 on Wednesdays. At least they don't close for lunch every day. Be quiet don't tell them!

Needed front axles for my youngest truck for inspection… 4 days of Fed Ex messaging out for delivery and every day they went back to the hub. My son came home from work to find them thrown out at the end of drive, hanging out of the box. Both flanges bent from throwing them on the road! :cursin: I was not messing with them. Just re-box them now waiting on another shipment….

Any time you special order at a fast food chain.....

always, always, ALWAYS...

...open and verify before leaving the store, even before leaving the counter.

Well, is your post office posting opening hours on the building that your entering?
You have an "official" post office building that you go to, or is it in some other type of retail business building?
You must live in a pretty small town, if you have a post office, that's closed for the lunch hour.
Personally, i never heard of a post office closing for lunch, until you mentioned this.
The two post offices nearest me also close for an hour for lunch.

I always do that. I been asked, sir, is there a problem! My response is always, I'll let you know in a second!

My Rant..........The other night Theresa and I were out for dinner with my brother and we stayed and talked, awhile. I gave her an extra 20, over and above for staying so long, for the loss of the money on the table, not a problem. The one that gets me is, walking in to pick up a dinner order and them thinking I'm going to tip them 20 dollars for it. I already paid for it to be cooked and no one did a thing, but throw it in a bag. I'm generous to a fault, but I'm not paying you because you just need the money without the work. These days we're being shamed into paying someone because of the job they wished they had, not the one they have..............

the dreaded "tip jar" :icon_fU:

Agree.

On a pickup order, the wait staff is not "waiting".
They are not brining me several dishes of food (nor are they or others bussing the table afterwards).
They are not bringing me a drink, or refilling it.

Maybe....maybe a dollar or two.

Fast food places here in Canada--especially McDonald's--have gotten so cheapass that you have to ASK to get ketchup or napkins tossed in the bag. I went to Edo last night and even they're cheaping out on customers; it used to be 2 spoons of teriyaki sauce they'd give you, but my meal last night was barely wet with teriyaki...after asking for the usual 2 spoons. It's pretty bad if you're chintzing out on your signature sauce.
