Wow, that went by fast.
Interesting how obsessed in the early days the pitch was about "stereo".
My first memory about MTV was a Billy Idol Video release 1982 'White Wedding".
Most groundbreaking long lasting aspect of MTV was the invention of a live very amateurish looking Video shot that was CONSTANTLY moving about the person being videoed. suspect that was playing on the coming attention deficient disorder addiction.

Old heavy metal heads might like this.
This chain of conversation had me go and look up old Erica Ehm stuff. I was looking for the Jamaica poolside stuff. It’s there, but is now so short and grainy that it isn’t as good as the original. The original was the entire segment and wasn’t so grainy and had lots of footage of her in a bikini. Hopefully it is still out there. But anyway…
Another thing that popped up was a long (25 minute) interview with Blackie Lawless from WASP. If you’re not aware of or into WASP you should probably scroll on but for fans it’s a great interview. If you are aware of him you probably know that he can be a tough interview. Tough, in that it can be hard to get past the rock star shtick. Turns out that Erica is no airhead and holds her own with Blackie and gets a great interview out of him. I always knew that there was depth to him but this interview shows that both he and Erica are no dummies.

I remember it as the Midnight Special, or maybe that was the Harvey Wall Bangers?:bananadance:

I loved listening to Martha Quinn. Perfect speech, no stuttering, pauses etc. Verbal poetry. And nice looking.

Guilty. I didn't watch your video.

OK guys, kiss and make up.
Remember, sticks and stones............

IIRC Mike Nesmith of the Monkees was involved in the development of MTV. The Monkees television show was the birthplace of the music video. They made two music videos in most every episode of the show.
