The flu shot

Tell ya what..I spent 20 years in the USAF,. As an involuntary lab rat/pin cushion, I got shots for ALL kinds of ****, and got sick as hell after EVERY flu shot but two. Deploying? More shots. They tried to give me the Anthrax shots (five total) in 1999, and I refused. Got in trouble, but no way in Hell was I going to risk that...seems I was right in doing so.

With that said, I've been retired from the military for 21 years now. Not one flu shot. None. Had a couple of colds. Had what my doc figures was this WuFlu **** right after Christmas 2019. I was in bed for two days at new years. I obviously didn't die. I'm not getting the shot. My body, my choice, right?

I respect that. And I also know what shots you had as well. As a Flyer, we either had to comply or be permanently grounded. So most of us complied. As for the Anthrax series? I avoided it until I was re-called to active duty after 9-11 because I was retired from 1998 to 2001. I then began to take the series. Only got 3 because they stopped making it mandatory so I lucked out kind of. No adverse effects from it thank God. I don't believe I am a Sheeple for taking all those shots as I liked my career and wanted to not screw it up by refusing to take them. All though in the early 80's when they began making the Flu Shot mandatory, that early Vaccine would give me a bad Cold until they stopped making it using the egg method. After that really the only time I got the Influenza was like I said back in 2018. And I wound up with the Type A which was the worst. cr8crshr/Bill

Take the shot every year and have never had the flu. I will take the Covid vaccine also when it is available. I was lucky and never had to take the anthrax vaccine prior to retirement, heard some bad stories.

Also true. That's where the flu shot works well. You can build immunity without getting sick.

That's the whole concept of it, yeah....
So tell me, why does that theory not apply to the kung flu as well?

Conspiracy theories, I've gotten a flu shot every year for 36 years and all is good. I guess you guys that think the government is thinning the herd never got a polio shot. TB, Tetanus, diphtheria, Varicella and Mumps either.

It's not really a conspiracy theory, it's a choice.. I have never had a flu shot and it's been over 25 years since I've had the flu or any sickness that has put me down. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. People that have weak or compromised immune systems should definitely take it as a precaution, if your healthy and you're not in direct contact with the public then it's a waste of a shot. Let your body do it's job

I never have gotten the flu shot
I rarely ever get sick either

I've had every vaccine I needed as a kid too
have the scare to prove it too

my dad does & he still gets it/Flu every damn year
as long as I can remember

**** that, if I need it I'll get it, otherwise not going to happen

We build natural immunity in our bodies by getting the sickness and fighting it off. To never be sick would make a very weak immune system

Getting the flu short seems to be supported by the perspective above.

Flu shot causes your body to create immunity by the immune system creating antibodies; IE natural immunity.

Think of it like sparing... its not a real fight but prepares you for it when it happens

A fight will still take place, if you get infected with the real thing, you just won’t get your *** kicked or die due to the heavy duty preparation

That’s not exactly what’s happening, but pretty close

But yeah if you think we are too pansy ***, and the immune system is needs a work now and then then get the flu shot

It’s a personal decision though

Frankly I don’t like the immune response from the flu shot and put it off and end up missing years.

Got it this year though

Don't want to be one of the unlucky bastards that will get covid and the seasonal flu at the same time...
