The Jersey Coast was Destroyed from Hurricane Sandy!

Glad to hear you made it through ok. Back in 04, we were without electricity for 13 days and then a couple of weeks later we were powerless for 8 more in two hurricanes. I was glad to pay electric bill (a lot cheaper) after buying gas for the generator, that gets expensive.

Keeping the lights on

Glad you and your famlies are good, this is my second week from home. Trying to get all the lights on as fast as we can. First was baltimoreand then philly and next is newyork. God bless everyone.

yup...some got no damage..and some sections of Belmar still have 5 ft of water almost to Main St. We were very lucky. my father in law lives on a lagoon in Brick, and got no water except for the garage, and both neighbors on either side lost their 1st floors..luckily my uncle moved his 62 Impala 409 and '07 XLR-V to higher ground or they'd be gone..4 feet of water in the garage.
We had no heat or power..so we jockeyed to houses with gas fireplaces.

I used to live right off of Belmar Blvd. I was wondering how they made out around there.

It was pretty scary...no power/heat for 6 days and 5 week old twins! We survived..power restored today. here is a link to some pics..people losts their homes..just washed away

we were fortunate to only have lost power..even the satty stayed dry.

Power went out about 2:30 pm Monday afternoon where I live; restored 12:25 am Wednesday morning. No property damage or flooding, thank God. Being without power with only candles and flashlights for illumination and NO COMPUTER is torture. BUT it could've been a LOT worse.
