They have done for a long time. The kilt is part of Celtic history.

You just don't see them worn that often. The Irish blokes I worked with would turn up to work in a black suit - jacket and trousers, and a clean shirt....then proceed to run a backhoe or shovel most of the day.

I the 60's IBM had a rule all men had to wear a suit and tie to work. If you in maintenance you changed clothes inside.
