I've got a 440 out of a 78 model Dodge Sportsman camper, it's a complete engine and I could have it on a stand and running with little effort; it's also attached to an automatic transmission, which I think is a 727 but I wouldn't swear to it.

I just want to know what this might be worth selling for if I ever have to, or decide to use another engine in my project.

Big blocks came only one way in what transmission they had....727 but most motor home transmissions had the short tail shaft with the bolt on yoke.

If this helps I just sold my running 383 complete with Holley 670 avenger, edelbrock performer intake and new Milodon Oil pan for $1200

same around here, 300-500 depending on condition or if it's cast vs forged crank

there's always some bozo on CL that's trying to get $1500+ out of one though

I bought one out of a motor home (1976) with 60,000 miles. Complete with 727 trans for $350. I knew the owner for years and knew the vehicle also.

$350. A lot of clowns will try and ask $1500 for it...

I'm not sure how many miles this engine had on it, but it ran and I could probably just wire it up and rebuild the carb and start it right up.

But, I'll just hold on to it.

Good 440's are worth holding on to if you plan to do something one day. Nothing wrong with a Winnebago motor. Heck, I have one in my 66 Belvedere and it's great.
