sad but true

I think it started somewhere around taking out the pledge of alliegence, the national anthem,
and prayer in public areas.

and for heavens sake to have the PC people angry for "in god we trust"

the list goes on and on.

sorry for my opinion, but i gave it anyway.

It truly is the greatest tragedy of our time. What I trip on is how it became this way. We , the people complaining about how things have evolved ,are the very generation that made it the way it is now!!
How could that have happened?

I only see it getting worse! We are in trouble!

My "then" was 1997 and even then we could get away with a hell of a lot more then now.
My poor son will be lucky to have any school sports other than badminton. And even then they prolly won't keep score or use racquets because they could be used as a wepon or swung in an aggressive manner.

A truely sad state of affairs and very good examples.

Here's another one

Scenario 9:
Tallhair acts up in public and local from the town chews his *** and makes him feel ashamed of his bad behavior.

Little Tallhair grows up to be a self centered *** clown who doesn't care about other people and respects no-ones rights or property. Tallhair is shot down by someone who won't put up with his crap.

I'm sorry satman 72, i was unaware y'all's country had the same problems as ours. I graduated in May of'66 and was issued an M-14 shortly after that. It was a great time to be an American. Today i am over 65 and I do not feel much pride anymore. I do attribute most of that feeling to all the comments yo and the other members have posted above.

All of the above 100% true. But as said above, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Whether it's apathy or just the feeling of no time to care because we seem to think that we are "two busy" or "doing our own thing". I can attest to feeling the sting of a paddle in school when I needed it..on more than several occasions not to mention when I got home too. We even use to get the first Monday of deer season off from school ....guess Peta would have stroked out over that one had some bleeding heart treehugger exsisted back then.

It's happening right under our noses, very quietly...and it's all starting at school.

IMO, it started back in the late '60's, early '70's with psychologists etc who decided that all kids are special, and these ideas that "it's not your fault" started to spread... We can't keep score in sports because little johnny will feel bad if he loses....etc, etc, etc
And then someone decided that people have the "right" not to be offended, with all that entails as well.

So, basically we have a generation that expects everything to be given to them, and to not have their feelings hurt, and when that doesn't happen, then it's someone else's fault.
