My daughter is a recent graduate as a vet nurse. She has already seen a lot of things but this one is special. A Pit Bull mix puppy was brought in a few days ago. The owner had him in the back of a truck and went around a corner to fast and flipped the dog out of the back of the truck. The driver was stopped and notified the dog had fallen out and was hurt. He said "Too bad I didn't want the dog anyway."

The concerned citizen brought the injured dog into the vet. This is an upscale vet practice in the expensive part of Denver. They took the dog in and are rehabbing it for free Right now it has three fractures of its back leg and no feeling in one its front legs. The employees are taking turns keeping the dog in their homes so it doesn't have to live at the vet clinic. Kylie said last night she made a bed for him in the bathroom but he cried so he finally ended up sleeping with her on her bed. His name is Rusty. He looks just like Petey from the Little Rascals.

The owner is being charged with animal cruelty.:angryfire:

:iamwithstupid: Poor dog

I'd throw the book at the POS guy that hurt & left the dog, some people really piss me off... :angryfire:

glad to see the dog was treated & he's being cared for, sounds like by some great people...

if you didn't know already, I'm a dog person...
I had a Staffordshire that looked allot like Petey back in the early 80's, named "Alfred the III"

That's probably why he had the dog in the truck bed in the first place. Hoping it would fly out. Some people shouldn't be allowed to own pets. Then you have those like the people that are taking care of the poor dog. Sad story. I guess you're looking for an adoption?

Ps: I used to live in Colo Sprgs for about 10 years. What a great place to live. I miss it and the people that live there. I'd like to live there again with my car but my wife won't move. I might still live there with my car.....

It amazes me how some people can be such pieces of ****.

I'm not really a dog person, but the driver needs three fractures on one leg and to lose some feeling in the other !!!! :violent-smiley-100:

Me and Valentine at the vets tonight. Got all her shots and a clean bill of health. And of course the picture is sideways

I called the cops on a guy that had his dog tied to the rear bumper of his car. He was going about 20 mph when he went by my house. Turned in a driveway about a block away. Had the cops there in about five minutes. He was arrested, dog was taken away from him. Everybody there wanted to do the same with him, even the cop. Scum!

people.

I have much better dealings with machinery and animals than with 90+% of people.

First off I think pit bulls can be terrific dogs and great family pets. I have never owned a pit bull, but I had an Akita (another breed that sometimes gets a bad rap) and he was the best dog I ever had. I have friends with pit bulls and they never have a problem with their dogs because they are good responsible owners. The problem is that some pit bull owners have the breed for all the wrong reasons. They somehow think if they have pit bulls that people will think that they are real tough bad asses. They don't care about the dogs, They just think the breed fits the image they are trying to project. It's sad.

They should do the same to that jerk off and put him in the back of a truck and fly around some corners until he falls out ! I am a dog lover as I have 2 Labs and one has some border collie in him as he is the one we got from the dog rehab place. Ron

Can I drive first? Then we'll stop and pick him up and I'll let you drive!

I agree with all above. I am a dog lover, lost my Lab 2 years ago to diabetics and now have a little Yorkie. I got my Yorkie from an animal rescue that got her from a puppy mill. All of these ******** who mistreat pets should have the same done to them. My little girl has not forgotten how she was treated when she was in that damn place, shows up everyday in her behavior but she has a home forever now. Hope our messages get out to the right people to adopt and love these animals. Besides my Yorkie we have 2 other dogs and 3 cats...we love animals.

Doesn't Denver have a ban on dogs that just 'look' like pit bulls? I swear I heard that somewhere...

I found my pit mix in a cardboard box w/ 3 of his siblings outside of a Walmart in freezing temps. He's grown up to be a vicious killer.

That sounds great !
You know when people say bad things about pit bulls they need to realize its the owner who trains the mean ones to be that way because we all see how sweet they can be when trained that way with good owners. Its the owners who are bad usually not the pets if they dont know any better. Ron
