new intake manifold. Just waiting on intake to head bolts and throttle linkage.

Jimmy Vignogna seems to think I might have to take some jet out of it.

time for some test and tune.i like the new manifold better, your setup will determine if it gives you more of course.waiting for some #'s.:clock:

With that big open plenum, it'll put your power a little up in the band. What are you topping the carbs with ? I would've thought a little more jet ?

Are the runners shorter or longer than the old manifold?

Looks cool... Less jet if the runners are shorter, sounds about right to me too... I wouldn't sware by it thou... I guess it depends on conditions where your going to be running also... Hell, I like the old Indy Bath Tub too thou...

If he's your engine guy, I would go with his hunch...

I believe I would stick with the first manifold.

I believe I would stick with the first manifold.

My thoughts, would be a little less low end torque, with the Tunnel Vs the Bath Tub... what is your thoughts ??

Why's that? All the AH super stockers run tunnelram style intakes. I hope your wrong because this would suck if I slow down after all this work switching manifolds.
I saw that a lot of NSS guys switched from the bathtub 440-25 intake to the indy tunnelram.

i think it will depend on how your cam and gearing react to the new manifold.did you measure the runner lengths before you put it together?it should lower you power band a bit, that is why he is recomending lower the jets.you might go faster, try it out and see.those strait shot tunnel rams dont make a lot of lower end torque compared to the new manifold.you may get a smoother power curve instead of the wave you prob got with the tunnel ram.

AH HA, I thought you were taking the tunnel ram off. I think the tunnel ram is the way to go. I just tested, on our dyno, a really nice Dominator single plane on a 515 Ford vs a tunnel ram, and the tunnel ram picked up 40 HP up top, 745 vs 785, and held even or better torque down low.

that makes me feel much better.
jakes automotive and shawn dynoed the hemi with the indy tunnelram only. 13 pulls with different jetting and different timing. we wanted to do a back to back comparison with a tunnelram but came up empty. they both thought 40-50 hp gains which i'm hoping for which should get me in the 9 teens.

this is my hood scoop clearance with the tunnelram. im shocked its this low.
