Funny I didn't think of that...went and flipped it but the same gap exists between bracket and intake. Intake is Weiand - bracket has fit on same intake before. Car was handed over to mechanic who started but didn't leave us in the best spot, took carb/intake off to clean but didn't reconnect.
Considering removing cables, attaching bracket and going form there to see if they connect. Otherwise will need to try spacer.
Presuming this very bracket was bolted in place, with the same intake and carburetor before servicing, it may be safe to presume you can get this to work just fine, without a bunch of uncertainty and swapping parts.
If you're hoping the bracket will fall back in to place, while the throttle cable, pressure linkage and so forth, are still attached as they were before, then I recommend you let go of that one. Because if it was gonna go, it would have by now.
The bracket, all by itself, must bolt tightly and cleanly to the intake manifold without bending anything. Again, presuming it was all in place prior to servicing. Maybe it's possible it wasn't all the cleanly in place, prior to servicing. Otherwise, you may have to tweak something to get it to fit cleanly. The vertical part of the bracket should be... vertical.
If you can get it to bolt on cleanly, then progress onward with reattaching the various components, and take care to adjust them according to the FSM.
If not, tweak what you must to get it to bolt in place. If you still cannot, you gotta stop at this step until you have a bracket that does.
Only after this, will you know if there is issue with the length of the throttle pressure rod, or carburetor rod, warranting further resolution and/or replacement.
