Those with FIRM FEEL steering boxes

How does it work? Do you send them your box and then they send it back? What is the turn around time?

Anyone with first hand experience?

I have a FF stage 2, but I didnt send them my old box, I kept it. It took less than a to ship it out.

Firm Feel II here. Sent them my box and it was back in about a week. Just a phone call ahead of time and talked to Dick, great guy. I live just north of the Washington border and they are in southern Washington so we are close. I really like the FF II box. It is tight and worked perfectly after reinstalling. Highly reccomended.

FF Stage 1. Great control, no wander. Dialed in. Would get a Stage 2 next time but the improvement was transforming.

No steering box but I had them reinforce my k-frame and bought some parts from them....great work and great guys.

Good quality work, Firm Feel has their act together. I bought front and rear Sway bar Kits, Bearing support for Manual Steering box and had my Box rebuilt 2 week turn around on Hemi Manual Box, new Bearings and nice and tight. Really like these guys their work is good.

I sent them mine and they rebuilt it and sent it back. Real easy to deal with. They had it less than a week.

I have a 16:1 manual box in my red beater and it is perfect. The lenco charger will have one as well.

My 2 cents worth.... I went with steer n gear just due to much closer proximity (quicker ship time) Went with a level 3. Had it in for a few years already, no regrets.

Firm Feel stage 3 with the fast ratio Idler and Pitman arms. This takes the 15.7 ratio down to near 12 to 1.
They have an UNadvertised "stage 4" but they don't promote it. Mine is still as good as a "1957 tech" steering box can be. There will always be some slop from 11 to 1. The higher the effort the more you will feel the slop. New front end parts will not get rid of it, this is simply how these steering boxes operate. An overboosted stage 1 box is so easy to turn, you may not even notice because the wheel turns so easily. If my car is idling, it almost feels like fast ratio manual steering.
The IROC steering box I had in my 76 Camaro several years ago gave better feel. I wish the Mopar steering felt as good. The Borgeson steering chuck sounds interesting but it costs almost three times as much to make that change.

I have two, and I wouldn't go back. Both stage 2, one under a 440, one under a /6. Both run /6 pumps turned down to near minimum pressure. No complaints from me. Turn around time was near a month for each, but it depends on whether they have cores or not. FF (and Dick) have been great to work with.

After talking with Dick I went with the Stage III. Haven't installed it yet. FF is great to work with; they turned around mine in a week. I couldn't get the pitman arm off and they did it for no charge. The hardest part is finding a box and packing material strong enough to support ~40 lbs.

i sent in a box and they said it was too rotted to repair, they sold me a another box they had kicking around for $50 and rebuilt that one for me, dick is the man!
