I do not know anything about 4 speeds but this thrust bearing does not look good. Should the sharp edge be sticking up on the inside of the bearing face ? Buy a new one ? where is the best place to buy from ?

Tony, I would look locally at Fag or SKF bearings. If you give them the numbers I'm sure they will have what you need.

by all means tony get a new one,used parts in that area are always a risk,hate to see you have to go back in down the road because of that.

looks like part of the inner bearing cage falling apart. definitely replace the bearing, it's more than shot.

You won't find those bearings at any supply shop here in NZ mate. Been through this myself last month. You'll have to crack open the wallet and buy direct from Brewer's Performance in the States. Get the bearing AND carrier as a unit. What you have there looks to be the cheaper non-MoPar built carrier & bearing made from pure Chinesium. Pop that bearing off the carrier, and it will never go back on. The carrier sleeve is approx 1mm smaller in diameter than any bearing available.

I'll post pics of the junk I have tonight if you really want.

Great feedback fellars. . Thanks kiwigtx, need some HP manifold exhaust bolts as well so might try Manicini and get a parcel made up.
Tony

OK Tony, I have some pics for you;

These carriers and the bearing are absolute junk....not even worth scrap money;

They even vary in OD for the bearings to locate - in other words, the bearings are custom fitted to these carriers by various methods - rubber spacer, the other a serrated ring captive on the outer groove...note the sizes measured for the ID of a bearing;

The bearing on the left is supplied by Brewer's Performance, and is excellent quality, the right hand one is just junk (from Year One or Summit - I forget now);

The team at Brewer's sent me this by Airmail, and it arrived in under two weeks. Got to be happy with that. :headbang:

When you buy the kit - make sure you get the bearing and carrier as a set.
