Happy New Year to ALL!
Here are a couple of pics of my old flame, a 1968 Coronet 500 that I bought as a parts car in 1980, since I already gad a 1966 Coronet, a 1967 Charger, a 1969 Charger RT, and a 1973 Charger SE. I stripped the seats and wheels off (the car had hit a culvert and the front suspension was ripped out) and I sold it to another guy for parts.
Long story short, I got the urge for another B body, tracked down the old Coronet (same guy had it) and he said if I could move it I could have it. Spent most of 2010 sourcing out parts and working on it to be back on the road in time for my hometown's 100th anniversary parade. I made it, but still have the bodywork to do. I love this old girl, I get a lot of comments about the bullet holes, but I don't care, another B Body lives to see another day.
The pictures are:
1. Taken in 1978 before it was wrecked.
2. Found in the bush in Nov. 2009
3. Parade day July 2010, taken with the guy I originally bought her from.
4. My son, who has bought his own 1957 Plymouth 2dr since this.
5. In the Parade, this was taken by a photographer from a local magazine and posted on their website.
She ain't pretty, but she has a hell of a lot of heart!
BTW: 2 weeks before the parade I dropped an engine hoist on the roof pillars and crushed them, and destroyed the rear glass.... I almost cried! Took 2 weeks to get over the shock, but I sent her out to get fixed, and with 2 days left, I installed the wiring, interior, and other loose ends!
Thanks for letting me share!
Ben
