Nice! I'm turquoise with envy!

Sorry to hear about that.....never a good thing.

No, it's not, she'll have to wait until July for me to save up, but I guess that's how it goes. Now, more importantly, I can't believe everything that's been going on with your car! It's been really great for me to see all of this progress! I love that paint!

I was all bundled up in the garage just like you describe the other week with my little budget Walmart heater about a half foot from me while looking like Ralphies little brother from The Christmas Story! Ha!

I dressed warm enough to keep the door open, no heater at all. Did the valve damage the head? Thanks for the kind words....

Whew, that's brave! I imagine it was a lot colder there today then it was here.

Honestly, it really just went big time today. Before now I was just having issues with plugs occasionally fouling, but today all the major symptoms of a burned valve broadcasted themselves in glorious fashion. Haven't even taken the head off yet, not that I would know much of what to do with it. sigh.:icon_redface:

It was in the low 40's...pull the cover and take a look.

She is looking real good ! :hello2: Ron

Thanks Ron, I am really looking forward to getting it back up on stands in the spring. I have a very long list of things that need to be done but would like to complete the engine compartment first. I have new seals for the shifter shaft that sticks out from the trans and then I have to get that refilled with fluid. I also found that when the PO updated to the 67 trans they didn't do anything about not having a trans mount so I have picked one up for the conversion. Exhaust pipes need trimmed back, headers need installed along with a new drivers side engine mount that was starting to separate (probably due to the trans mount) and I want to install the original radiator and flush the engine before I install the new aluminum radiator.....that should get me through the first week or so.....:toothy12:

Thats dedication! and its a beauty red! Hope you finish her soon, spring will sneak up on us!! Good luck to ya...

Nice! Did you get to finish your head? What kind of Cam do you have in the engine?

That is a beautiful car and I love the turquoise as well. My `68 Road Runner was and will be again LL1. Can't wait!

I have always wanted a car that color and I figured that I better do one now since it may be my last!

Sounds like fun! How is the ratio in the sure grip treating you? After I get these heads sorted the next thing on my list is getting rid of my one wheel peeler highway gears and I was thinking about a 3.55 to 1.

It's inspiring to see you pulling this off in a garage space about the size of mine.

Pulled the cover off and didn't see any damage although I finally have time off of work today, so I might finally pull the entire head and see what's going on. If nothing else, it'll at least save me the cost of labor in having a machine shop pull it! Lol.

I love the second picture you posted! That's the garage of a true car guy! Raw cement floors, unpainted drywall with spackle and tape showing, orange extension cord hanging down... lots of work to be done on the garage but you're in the garage working on the car. I love it!

I get so tired of seeing ads and mag pictures where the garage is spotlessly clean, there are high-tech organizers and bins everywhere, specially painted floors and walls, and some 100-point 69 Camaro parked in it with a owner nearby who bought the car at auction and has never touched it with any of those well-organized snap-on tools hanging on the wall and never will.

Let me tell you how bad it is.....the garage is 19x19 and is considered a 2 car garage. IF you put the garbage can in it you have to put it between the 2 cars and then squeeze around it. I have a roll around 2 tier tool box and I don't have enough room to put it in the garage so I put a lot of my tools in small tool boxes that will fit against the walls. Talk about a PITA, dump the boxes out to look for a tool.....thanks for the kind words!

But then I remember what it was like when I didn't have a garage at all.

I can sure relate to you on the garage, mine being almost the same size.. You said it right for sure... I have over spray on the exhaust fan, walls look like they been used for practice on something in places lol, thats what its for though, beats the maple tree in the yard! Your car looks good in there red, nice to know there dry and out of the weather for sure..
