From my other electrical threads, it appears i need a new limiter for 68Charger. All have recommended the RTE limiter for $60.
Has anyone installed this in their car, and is it push-in style with no wiring involved?
RTE has no phone number for questions

Been using one for several years with zero issues. I had the old fuel-temp-oil pressure gauge sudden flaring symptom for years. Gauges are all rock solid steady with the solid state unit.

Luckily they have a website that is not hard to find, and a glorious picture of it front and center. A couple of keyboard pokes and you're in

It's a 12 volt DC.to 5 volt converter. 12 volts in 5 volts out simplicity in itself......plus it's relatively inexpensive.....?????.....however it offers no protection like the RTEngineering's unit...the choice is yours.....

The RTE device mimics the original bi metal device. It stays at 12V for several milliseconds when power is first applied, which warms up the thermal gauge movement. Then it chops 12V at the same rate of the bi metal device.
Of course you get more advantages with the RTE device such as short circuit protection and over voltage lock out.
Icing on the cake is a LED indicator to show the device is functioning as intended.
Worth every penny of the asking price.

The fleabay converter actually does offer protection. Still, rte is probably better since it mimics the bi metal device warm up and is plug and play. It could still be a good choice for those that don't have or want to spend $70 on a limiter.
