i recently bought a summit gear set maybe 6 months old now never installed it because it was a 3 cam version ...got a new cam and when i checked the gear it makes a small wrecking sound...like the bearing??can i use it?
Sorry buddy you're gonna hafta explain
What's a "3 cam version?"
What is a "wrecking sound?"
You have the part no? Can you post a link to the specfic set you bought?
What engine is this on?
3 bolt cam gear vs single bolt cam gear Is what i assumed he was talking about . Have no Idea what he talking about a bad bearing or wrecking noise ?.
So this is a Timing "gear drive" setup, not a Timing "Chain" setup?

Im pritty sure thats what he is talking about,
And as for the strange noises from the dogbone gears.... Just clean them out real good. theres most likely machine debris in them. Also the stufs the gears are moubted to are machined long so you can grind them down for fitment behind the timing cover, and to align the cam and crank gears
yes the circle thing the spockets (picture below)when i rotate the spocket THING dnt know what is called ....it makes a slight grinding sound...(sorry for not getting the message/problem clear its my first car and yeah....(and about local help the garages here are rubbish and most people dont work with mopars(moslty they work on chevy and they litterally tell you they wont work on dodge cars...there are only 2 registered roadrunners in qatar(im just saying lolYou guys really should look at the link. Conventional timing set, roller chain
To be clear, those are not "gears." They are "sprockets"
I still think his best bet at this point is local help

???????????????
I see nothing about "conventional timing set", I seen "gears" which lead me to ask the question of type of setup.
the timing chain is not in the car yet...im just turning it by hand(the part circled in red in my abouve post)and it makes a small noise....You need to isolate one sproket from the other by removing the chain. That way you can tell for sure where the grinding is coming from. If it is the cam bearings, go here and check out my cam bearing install how to.
