Hi guys,
I have used a lot of time & money trying to find retrofit LED bulbs to replace my old incadesent bulbs for my interior, dash and exterior.
I was looking for Bulbs with a colortemp close to incadecent and preferably a little bit more light.

Below are the bulbs that I'm satisfied with:

BA9: ebay, warmwhite 14.99 for 10 psc.

BA15S:ebay, Wamrwhite, 4.99 for 2psc.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BA15S-1156...var=690921327830&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

BA15D ebay, warmwhite 21.99 for 10psc.

For Taillights I use these:
1157: Red, 8.74 for 2pcs

1156: Red 8.64 for 2psc.

Note, Slantsixdan does not recomend LED bulbs for exterior lightning , ( so you should not use them

Great info.
I bought some LED lamps from a local LED lighting company, and have used them as tail lights so far.
I am going to need a pair of LED lamps for the factory interior floor light fixtures that are on the sides of a transmission console. Any idea what lamp works in those fixtures?
What about the side marker lamps? 70 Roadrunner.

The LEDs in my case are brighter. They are by design much more durable and long lasting.

Had some hassles with LED tail/brake lights then came upon a set that worked nicely - brighter to warn the shitwads who tailgate a bit sooner. Except the turn signal/running light LED's I got with the set was a different deal: When I'd turn the directional left or right BOTH would blink! Regular bulbs worked fine and this is after a new wiring harness. Got another set of LED's sent to me and same deal. So I have the LED's in back only...go figure.

Note: if you replace your blinkers with led bulbs then you need to upgrade the flasher unit to a solid state model as the current draw will not work with the current flasher unit.

Also, there is a polarity requirement on the flasher unit so if it doesn't work don't let them sell you the "polarity reversal" adapter for $5 when you can just swap the pins in the plug yourself

Love my LEDs in my cars !

I had installed the upgraded flasher unit with the added ground wire...no diff.

I'm guessing they are the same as on my charger, they are BA15D ( I use the BA15D that I linked)
Side marker lights, BA9s

I wanted to change to LED to reduce the current through the bulkhead terminals and the rear harness. (Dim lights at idle) I ended up changing up all bulbs for dash, interior, side markers,t taillight. The lights were still dim, so installed relay for the headlights/ increased the wire size, connected big cables directly from alternator to start relay (with fuseible link). Headlights are much brigher, but still a bit flickering at idle. Now I'm waiting for a new 90amp alternator :icon_fU:
For the taillights I didn't like the instant on/off on the LED's, so I opened the LED bulb and did some research for the LED driver that was implemented inside the socket. The outcome? I removed the printed circuit board inside the socket, and made my own PCB's (2x PCB's stacked inside the socket). Now they turns on/off slowly as a incadesent light. A lot of work for a small detail ...:drama:

I switched every light in and out (even the am radio bulb) to LED's and am very happy with the outcome. It was earlier mentioned that for your turn signals, you need to install LED flashers, but that doesn't always work. I still had problems with mine not being in time. With a turn signal on, my dash indicator and front and rear would all flash at different times, they weren't in sync. I ended up installing load resistors and putting my original flashers back in and everything works perfectly and is in time. I mounted them in the trunk next to each tailight housing and no one would ever see them. So if LED flashers don't work, keep this in mind. I put one resistor on each side (in the rear), not one for each corner like they say you'll need. Like Ron H mentioned, you're much easier seen from the morons behind when you stop or turn.

Good Luck!

No led flasher, no resistors, no upgraded anything. Just hard wired them in and work perfect. And man are they bright. Visible over 2 miles away.

One step at a time, I only have 6 Saturday’s and a Sunday. So I’m taking my time doing improvements!

Kristoao, any particular reason you did not go with LED headlights?

Well, I dont like the LED headlight on old cars, it just doesnt have the right look. (bluish colour) . So I did not look into it.
Slantsix Dan, (https://www.danielsternlighting.com/) also informed me that there was just a few options for a good LED headlights and they are pricey.
I ended up upgrading to H4/H1 halogens. Much better light pattern.
I higly recomend Daniel if you want to upgrade your headlights. A guy with a lot of knowledge, and he gives support like I never experienced before.

I recommend LEDtronics for taillights. They're awesome. I bought all my interior and park lights from superbrightLEDs.com and I'm pleased so far. Their customer service is outstanding. Hot tip. buy the same color LED as what goes behind the lens, whether warm white, green, amber, blue or red. The white ones are too intense. for my dash gauge illumination I used blue behind the Bluegreen filters and they turned out amazing. Also, they are fully dimmable.
