I am having some electrical issues with my 68 Charger right now.

My battery has a charge of 12.2 V ( a little low from some cranking and testing ) When I turn the key to run , with out starting or cranking I get an imidate drain on the battery down to 11.8 V.

I dont' think there shoud be any drain on the battery with nothing running , simply the key in the Run position.

Think about what you just posted. In essence, you're stating there should be no difference when its in the "off" position and "run" position. What is happening in the "run" position ?

How are you testing it? Just pos terminal to neg? What made you even test it?

I am just getting frusterated with this damn electrical stuff. I have some mysterious electrical problem that seem to change by the day. At first the car was dying when it got hot, I could let it cool down and it would start again.

I replaced the coil, and the car ran like a champ for about 2 weeks. Then out on a cruise the car just dies on me again, and I have not been able to restart it again. I have no spark.

My ECU is good ( tested on seperate vehicle ) I have power to all my points coil, ECU , ect. I guess my next question is what is a normal resistance for coil ( checking from the positive terminal to center post) I am getting 10.5 (20K) = 10500 Ohms?

I tested the plug wire itself from the coil getting 7.5 (20K) but I can't get a continuity check does that make sense ?
