My front wheels is standing with a really big toe-out..

I want to do a rough adjustment before I'm driving to the service.

I loosened the nuts that are holding the "sleeve" in position, but I then cant move it... I sprayed it, but i cant get it to move... Do you have any clue what I'm doing wrong?
How do i turn the sleeve without damage it?

Or is this the wrong way to do it?

Are the tie rod ends and sleeves new or old and dirty and rusty? Once you loosen the clamp nuts, the sleeves should rotate fairly easily....so long as they are not rusted up. Also, do you have any threads showing on the tie rod ends?

Yes, they are quite rusty...
Some threads are showing on the outside of the sleeve.

I guess I'll drown them in WD40 and hope for the rust to go...

If that doesn't work, try PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench. Might even 'body work' them by hammering the sleeve over the treaded areas with a hammer backup. Light taps generally do well just like you're working sheet metal....

Or, take the inner, outer tie rod and sleeve assembly off the car. Use a chisel to spread the sleeve to get the tie rods out, wire wheel the threads and lubricate them, then reassemble

Thank you. I think I'll try to tap them with a hammer. Like you said, over the threads...

Measure them before removal so you can at least get back to where you were.

Daves69: I was hoping to adjust them without removing them...
CargerPilot: I wish I had that tool... But was hoping to get it done without it... How does it look?

It has a tooth that goes in the split so when you are turning it opens the crack
If you can get a small chisel in split it may help
