Tranny cross member question

Thank you, I assume selector seal is slightly larger. When you install the adaptor seal. I think the spring faces up ? Not sure ? White the selector seal, I think the inner spring is the opposite and faces down ?

I found which way the springs face. I think there’s supposed to be a little wire retainer inside too
