I had my tranny redone this winter ,a new seal replaced on the kick down shaft ,and now it is leaking again,is there a temporary fix,for this.i think i will remove the tranny this winter and replace it with a newer style.I would like to make it through the summer without takeing it out
Thanks

You said you had it redone. I would take the car to them and tell them whats going on and you want it fixed. Sounds like the shaft is wore down where the seal wont work, or the seal not properly in which they i think should have known. Not trying to be depressant but if a mechanic does this work at even a local small shop they should stand behind it. JMO.

I agree that the unit must go back to the shop that repaired it.
As long as I was in the industry, if something went wrong with something that was fixed by our shop within one year, we had to do it for gratis.

I had a leak I thought was comming from the kick down, because that was all that was there. It ended up comming from the N.S. switch. Right out around the terminal.

Yes i hear ya,but a friend did it for me really cheap.he did a very good job, other that ,but it maybe my own fault, this is what i did,i removed the kickdown arm ,and got a deep 7/16 socket,i kinda pushed down on the seal, and then i replaced the washer which i think holds the seal down, then i replaced the arm and held it down with good pressure against the washer.tighten it down and so far so good ,im keeping my fingers crosssed,so im thinking the seal may have popped out a bit ,
Thanks for your help
