Trans Color

Hi I have a 68 roadrunner and original 383 4 speed car and I was wondering what color was the transmission. I have found the engine color info and it was orange. Id appreciate any info, thanks.

should just be the natural color of the metal case , I have seen guys clear coat them to keep them pretty or use an oil or cosmoline to keep it from oxidizing ???

Clear coated mine when I replaced it. Real nice and easy to just wipe it down now.

I bet they do look good clear coated, i painted mine orange after i cleaned it all up just to keep it from the rust.. Ive seen the ones refurbished and rebuilt for sale that looks like a steel color..
