Hey Gents I need some ideas:

On my '70RR I am in the process of running a fan-cooled trans cooler in front of my radiator and AC condenser - behind the grill but in front of the core support. The cooler lines are replacing the factory pipe which runs only to the radiator cooler - behind the core support.

It looks like the only way to get the 6AN lines from the cooler to the trans is either under or through the core support. I don't love the idea of going under because they are right there for any piece of flying debris to cut - and put trans fluid on the asphalt in front of the approaching rear tire. But to go through requires drilling two 1" holes for grommets. I know that the core support is considered a weak spot on the frame (which is why there are aftermarket tube core supports in chassis kits) and I am a little concerned about making it weaker.

Thoughts? Pictures?

I went under, I'll post a pic later today. I had a similar concern and finally decided to use 3/8" steel brake line and fab'd my own, simply because I've never heard of a rock tearing a hole in that stuff.

There should be a hole towards the top of the core support between battery box and radiator. This is the factor location for running auxillary cooler lines. If someone out there can explain how to attach PDF file I can post a picture.
