Transmission throttle lever adjustment

I'm going to have to figure something else out this is not working I'm adjusting it to the instructions and the swivel bracket that the rod attaches to falls forward Hold rod forward loosen nut slide rod back while pushing retainer forward. The end of the slot in the rod isn't even close to the pin.

I just read another thread about the same issues I'm having It looks like I will go with the Lokar setup

Then u need the 4 bbl set up like this. From a 70 charger 440. Notice how long the top rod with the slot is. I can sell u this if u want it. Kim

OP has a small block.

I have a 76 318 with mods for a common eddy performer (which is currently on it).

Next time I am at the shop I'll see about a pic.

Dam, Idk how I missed 318 with 904. I was thinking big block. Regardless he still needs the proper linkage or install a cable. Also looks like the throttle cable is in the wrong spot, not on the pin. Kim

Will this help? I went from a 318 2bbl to LA360 Performer intake and 1406 carb with no issues. Only had to install the linkage adapter.

That's a different animal for sure. Does it look like this one? A cable is an option if you have the right parts on the carb.

I had similar issues. I ended up using the nut and bolt to remove the slack in the slotted arm at the carb. Multiple people said to get rid of the nut and bolt, but my slotted arm does not adjust. It is not threaded. It's one piece and only adjusts at the tranny with a square block adjuster. I decided to use the nut and bolt and --- after some slight bending of the arm near the firewall, trial and error and adjusting the block adjuster at the tranny --- it works and shifts perfectly. I can live with the nut and bolt.

I also used the same linkage bracket on a Holley street avenger 670 with good results. I had to elongate 1 hole to make it fit. Worked and shifted great.
