Trick flow 240 Heads with Factory Six Barrel Intake

Was your 408 LA or Magnum based? The Magnum block has a lower deck height, and requires the intake manifold to be milled to fit, no matter what heads you run
Ah ha! That make sense now. Yes, it is a '94 Magnum block. Thank you for the info!!

Ive not been to track
I will say - no issue keeping up with my hellcat ( 5 speed passon ) and eats corvettes at lights on street . Lol .

I’ve only driven on the street. Haven’t had it to the track yet.

I'm going to give Trick Flow's tech line a call tomorrow but thought I would ask here for real world experience.

I've got a '70 Roadrunner 440 Six Barrel with the cast iron intake. It's time for an engine refresh and I'm looking at getting the Trick Flow 240 heads. I know I will end up port matching the intake which is fine with me.

We are running trick flow heads on my daughters 71 Demon, 408 stroker. This engine has the Edelbrock Proflow 4 which has the super victor intake. We ended up having to mill the intake .060 to sit correctly with the heads...the deck was not milled.

My question is, are any of you running this head with a factory six barrel intake and stock block deck height? I've got an air grabber hood that I love, so I don't want to get a set of heads that may cause any clearance issues with it. Or cause me to loose the six barrel setup that I have.

Thanks, Bill
Bill, did you ever get a clear answer on this question? I am planning to use 240 heads with my aluminum six pack intake. Will I need to port my intake to match up with the heads?

I have this same set up, just port matched the intake.

I will find out this spring, but I'm pretty sure it will.

Looking forward to it. Not too many street guys going to the track to measure actual car performance these days.

I'm more a track guy. My GTX is probably geared more towards track, but still street able. Kinda a Drag Week style car with AC & OD.

I try to get out 4-5 times for test and tune or track rental , but it's full-on street car.
